Making The Mystics is a documentary honoring the transcendent nature of Tsilhqot’in culture explored through Kim Senklip Harvey’s artistic constitution. This feature film weaves through interviews with Interior Salish community members and select scenes from Senklip Harvey’s first story for young audiences to illuminate the mystical powers of connecting with the land and ourselves. In Harvey’s signature style of fusing humor and hope we are invited into intimate conversations, community places and cosmic spaces to honor the feisty fortitude of the Tsilhqot’in Nation. This documentary ignites a fire for the youthful parts of all of our spirits, encouraging us to have the courage to honor the emotional complexities of living a full life.

We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts.
Since 1975, Green Thumb Theatre has been creating and producing plays that explore social issues relevant to the lives of children, youth, and young adults, and are one of country’s foremost creators of theatre for young audiences. We have performed throughout Canada, the United States, and in 11 countries overseas. We provide theatre that celebrates the language and stories of today’s generations and cultures to stimulate empathy, debate, and critical thinking.
We believe all youth deserve access to quality, professional productions. We strive to create pieces that prompt young people to ask questions and think deeply about the themes at play, rather than theatre that will tell them what to do or think. After each performance, audiences have an opportunity to ask the actors questions, allowing them to engage with the actors in a more meaningful way. Our plays are set in the current time, with characters who represent our audiences or people they know in their everyday lives, allowing audiences to put themselves into the play.
